Alright, so here’s the thing. Capcom just dropped a bomb with Title Update 2 for Monster Hunter Wilds, and wow, there’s a lot going on. They blabbered on about it during the June Spotlight livestream — honestly felt like my brain was gonna explode with all the info.
First off, mark your calendars or scribble on your hand or whatever, because this update’s launching Monday, June 30. There’s gonna be some maintenance first, so maybe binge-watch a show or something while they sort that out.
Okay, the real juice: new monsters! Lagiacrus and Seregios are making their grand entrance. And the wild part? Lagiacrus drags you underwater for combat. Yeah, you read that right. Get your flippers ready or something. But — and it’s a big but — you’ll need to finish this main quest, A World Turned Upside Down, and a side quest called Forest Doshaguma. Hunter Rank 31 or higher. Tall order, right?
Seregios is part of this package too. Same mission requirements. Knock those out, and you get shiny new armor sets for both your Hunter and Palico. Also, there’s this Tempered (8 Star) thing for them — whatever that means — available if you hit HR 41.
Quick detour here: Uth Duna is getting an Arch-tempered variant but hold your horses, it’s not dropping until July 30. HR 50 and above if you’re planning on tackling that beast. More armor, yay?
Let’s switch gears. Crafting’s getting an upgrade. Layered weapons are in, so now you can pimp your weapons with stats you dig while making them look like something else. Need to finish crafting the final weapon on any tree to use it as a layer. Sounds complicated? It kinda is.
And — roll the drums — you can now swap your main handler from Alma to Erik. Plus, another support hunter (sporting a Sword & Shield) is on standby for you.
Oh, and before I totally forget, there’s a seasonal event thrown in there: Festival of Accord: Flamefete, running July 23 to August 6. New armor, camp swag, gestures, the Grand Hub will get a facelift, and hey, themed meals at the cantina. Bon appétit!
Next up, Title Update 3 promises even more chaos with a fresh monster and festival. September, it is!
Honestly, Monster Hunter Wilds is kinda on a rocky road right now, what with player numbers tanking on Steam and reviews being overwhelmingly negative. It’s up in the air if TU2 can turn the tide or just be a life vest. Fingers crossed, I guess?
