Sure thing, here we go:

So here’s the thing — the bit everyone was buzzing about from June’s Capcom Spotlight? Yeah, it was all about Resident Evil Requiem. We got a peek, sure, but if you were expecting the full-on gameplay blowout, well, surprise! Didn’t happen.
I mean, I guess we found out why Capcom is taking things in this new direction. But it was wrapped up in one of those “Creators’ Message” videos. You know the type—more talking heads than actual game footage. Kinda felt like waiting for a rollercoaster and ending up on the merry-go-round instead.
Oh, and for the curious — and who isn’t? — the game has Grace as the main player. Turns out, she’s from the Ashcroft family in the Resident Evil Outbreak series. Who knew? Feels like a callback, right? Apparently, this time Capcom wants a breather from the Winters family drama, and they’re itching to dive back into the chaos of Raccoon City and, you guessed it, Umbrella. Makes sense for the big 30th anniversary shindig.
Now here’s a thought bubble: Why not Leon Kennedy, Mr. Raccoon City himself? Simple answer: Capcom wants someone who’s jumpy. Sorry Leon, you’re just too cool and collected. Enter Grace—she’s got those newbie vibes that make sense in a horror setup. But don’t fret, she’s still FBI-trained with a knack for shooting, so it’s not all screaming and running.
Anyway, you can play Requiem in either first or third-person. Capcom’s logic? People seem to stick with one perspective they like, so why not offer both? Makes things a tad more interesting, I guess.
Mark your calendars or don’t, but Resident Evil Requiem drops on February 27, 2026, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. Write it down, or just let it sneak up on you.
