Okay, so you know how when you’re waiting for something but then, surprise! It’s going to take even longer? Yeah, that’s the scoop with Wander Stars on the Nintendo Switch. Fellow Traveller and Paper Castle had folks all hyped, then bam, delay time. I guess they figured better late than broken, right?
They dropped an update — and by “dropped,” I mean, they spilled the beans. The game’s coming later than folks thought. Everybody who joined the beta, props to you, you really helped spot the oopsies. Apparently, the UI’s a hot mess, combat’s glitchy, and somewhere along episode 2, things just get wack. Like, what even happened there?
So the devs said, hold up! Let’s iron out these wrinkles (or craters?) in the game. Plus, they’d been burning the candle at both ends trying to hit the original release date. Who can blame ’em for wanting to take a breather and not become zombies before launch?
And then, in this plot twist worthy of a Netflix special, the new debut date is September 19. Why? Well, it just so happens to be the 7th anniversary of Underhero or something. Kind of cute, kind of random. But hey, if you’re gonna delay, might as well make it memorable.
They’re hoping this wait is worth it. Like, seriously, they’re crossing fingers and toes. The game’s got martial artists Ringo and Wolfe, who are basically the galaxy’s answer to the mystery-solving Scooby gang. The story takes you on this wild ride through 10 chapters of what sounds like an explosive mashup of Cowboy Bebop, Dragon Ball Z, and One Piece. I mean, who doesn’t want that kind of chaos?
Plus, they’re throwing punches and words? Yeah, Kiai is all about mixing words to smack down baddies. Over 200 words to choose from to really deal out some creativity — just make sure you know the difference between “smash” and “smush.”
Circle your calendar, August 1, 2025, for the world digital release on Nintendo eShop. Meanwhile, check out whatever teaser trailer they’ve got lined up on YouTube. If you’re into quirky adventures that keep you guessing, maybe this is your jam. Or maybe it’s just mine. Who knows.
