Oh boy, so here we go again — the Switch 2 Pro, or whatever name they want to give it, isn’t happening anytime soon. It’s like, just chill with the rumors, right?
Anyway, I was thinking, why’s everyone going bananas over this? Could be the import taxes or maybe just because folks have been itching for a new Mario Kart for like, eons. I mean, I get it. Who doesn’t love zipping around those tracks?
Nintendo dropped a little note earlier today, a sort of “hey, look at us!” moment. They’re saying the Switch 2 zoomed out of the gates, with more than 3.5 million sold in just four days. Which, if you ask me, is like — wow. No other Nintendo gadgetry has moved so fast. The old Switch? Ha! It only managed 2.74 million in its first month back in March 2017.
Not to spill all the juicy bits at once, but they’re saving the good stuff, like how sales shook out around the globe, for when they dish out their financials. That’s coming up in some sweltering July or August, whenever they decide.
And I dunno why, but I can’t shake this image of people lining up with their faces smooshed against the glass doors of game stores, waiting with their eyes all sparkly and gleeful. Makes me chuckle.
