Man, so get this—Scottish developers, formerly known as NoCode, decided to flip the script and go by Screen Burn now. Yeah, I know, kind of a crazy name, but there’s a whole story there. Started back in 2015, they had this wild idea to make games without any actual coders. Hence, NoCode. And they managed to whip up some pretty cool stuff like ‘Stories Untold’ and ‘Observation’. More recently, they got tapped by Konami to work on the new ‘Silent Hill: Townfall’—big, right?
But fast forward to now, and the studio’s full of coders. Talk about a turnaround, huh? So, the name wasn’t cutting it anymore. They were like, “With all these brains coding away, NoCode just doesn’t mesh with who we’ve become, or… are becoming.” Kind of like wearing an old band shirt that doesn’t fit anymore.
And get this—NoCode became such a buzzword in app development. I imagine their inbox was a disaster. Anyway, they did some soul searching, asking themselves, “If we’re not NoCode, then what are we? What have we always been?” And boom—Screen Burn. The name’s like an ode to nostalgia, old-school tech stuff like analogue TVs and floppy disks (remember those?). Their games have this charmingly retro vibe, something that lingers with you. Kind of like that old arcade machine that permanently imprinted its UI on the screen. Makes sense, I guess. Or—maybe I’m just sentimental. Who knows?
