Oh wow, so PlayStation is already diving into the hype of Gamescom 2025 like there’s no tomorrow. Yeah, they’re throwing some sweet discounts on the table for PS4 and PS5 games. And — surprise, surprise — that includes this big shot action RPG that’s totally killing it as the top seller this year. Weird how that stuff just sticks in your mind, like an earworm.
Monster Hunter Wilds Gets a Nice Price Cut
So, Capcom’s brainchild, Monster Hunter Wilds, is sitting pretty with a 20% slash on the PS Store tag. It was pegged at $69.99, but hold your horses, now it’s just $55.99. By the way, if you’re on PS5 and have dollar signs in your eyes, you better hustle. This sweet deal’s vanishing act is set for August 28 at 2:59 a.m. PT. Why so specific? Beats me.
Anyway, the game’s description is a bit poetic — something about the wild being a relentless force of nature. Almost makes you want to hug a tree or something. The whole saga is about monsters and humans trying to not step on each other’s toes in this dual-world mess. You’re the Hunter, naturally, chasing down beasties and whipping up swanky gear from their bits and pieces. There’s a deeper plot about the Forbidden Lands, but honestly, who reads descriptions?
And, oh, for those who want more than just the vanilla, there are juiced-up versions too. The Deluxe Edition, a middle child with some extra goodies, is down to $71.99 from a sky-high $89.99. Then there’s the big kahuna, the Premium Deluxe Edition — it’s the whole enchilada plus some fancy cosmetic DLCs — cut to $92.49 from $109.99. Why all these versions? Capitalism, I guess.
So, the game drops earlier this year, and critics are all over it like bees to honey. Metacritic is throwing an 88 at it based on 108 critic reviews. Our pals over at ComingSoon.net even slapped it with a whopping 9.5 out of 10. Guess it’s not just me who thinks it’s neat.
And there we go, a sort-of organized ramble about PlayStation and Monster Hunter Wilds right before Gamescom 2025 kicks off. Maybe I wandered off point a couple of times, but who hasn’t, right?
