Alright, so picture this: after slogging through 22 years of ups, downs, and everything in between, the founders of Sumo Group in the UK are saying, “See ya later!” or maybe just “Goodbye”… but not “forever.” Just stepping back, you know? Anyway, the big wigs, Carl Cavers, Paul Porter, and Darren Mills, they’re the ones heading out. Pretty wild, right?
So, here’s what went down: they put out some fancy investor release — probably filled with those words that sound important but don’t really say much, if you get what I mean. Anyway, Carl and gang are out, and now Andy Stewart, the guy counting the pennies, and Gary Dunn, freshly promoted top dog of operations, are stepping up to fill Carl’s shoes. Or share them? Or maybe just take turns?
Oh, and all this shaking up didn’t end there. Out of the blue, Tim Repa-Davies, running the show over in legal corner, suddenly finds himself on the board. Wild promotion day or what?
So I imagine Carl saying, “Yeah, walking away ain’t easy,” like it’s no big deal, but you can tell it isn’t just a cakewalk after building this whole thing. Must’ve been tough. Proud as punch though — like when you build a weird but awesome sandcastle just to watch the tide eventually take it away. Or maybe not? Probably not the best analogy. Anyway…
Then Stewart chimes in, calling it a “natural evolution.” Isn’t that how they all say it? Like, part of some cosmic plan or something. But hey, at least they aren’t planning on totally reinventing the wheel over there. It’s all “staying true” and “building strong” and blah, blah.
Wonder what’ll come next? Might be epic. Definitely messy. Definitely Sumo. Or, maybe not. Time will tell, I guess.
