Nintendo Switch 2 is doing something kinda cool – they’re letting you use a USB mouse right from the start! Yeah, they’re finally acknowledging what a lot of us have been saying for ages about controllers not being super precise, especially in games where you need that precision – like, remember trying to aim in shooters? Nightmare.
So, with Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening Complete Edition (that’s a mouthful, huh?), you can plug in your mouse and off you go. Which is neat because we’re all about choices, right? So, not only do you have the new Joy-Con 2’s – which kinda mimic a mouse anyway – but you also get to choose an actual mouse. It’s like they’re saying, “Hey, we hear you,” and that feels good.
There was this gameplay demo – I mean, it was more like fun random showcase where they were plugging mice in and out – and you could literally see the game switching from the Joy-Con to the mouse-like magic. Honestly, it was a bit surreal. The cursor just changing its mind like it has a brain of its own or something. And if you’re really wild, you can mix and match, use both. Imagine, you’re clicking around with your USB mouse and boom, slap those Joy-Con buttons for a quick action! It’s almost… I dunno, like mixing peanut butter and jam – different but it works.
Anyway, this isn’t the first time Nintendo dabbled with USB mice. The older Switch had a thing for mice too, but it was like, low-key. Only a few games cared about it. I remember playing Quake with a mouse, and wow, what a difference, right? Maybe Switch 2 will pick up on keyboards too – you know, for the sake of nostalgia or something? Just a thought.
Oh, and about those Joy-Con 2s, people are talking. Like, this dude from CD Projekt Red had a lot to say about how you can swing katanas in Cyberpunk 2077. Sounds intense, right? Picture that – slicing through with a flick of the Joy-Con. I might get a bit carried away with a sword, but who wouldn’t?
Anyway, Nintendo’s doing some next-level stuff here. Maybe I’m just excited, who knows. It’s definitely adding a spice of something new to their gaming soup. And sometimes, a bit of spice is all you need.
