Oh wow, so 33 Immortals is making a comeback for Xbox Insiders, which is kinda cool, right? Anyway, they’re starting the playtest on, let me check… ah yes, Tuesday, May 20 at 8 in the morning PT (that’s 11 AM ET for the folks on the East Coast). And it’s gonna last for six days, ending on May 26, same time. It’s big news because they’ve done some updates or something and now you can actually play it on Xbox One. Didn’t see that coming. They’re super pumped to see how we all like the changes. But heads up, it’s limited spots, so if you’re into this co-op roguelike thing with 33 players, mark your calendar!
So, diving into the game itself — you’re basically this damned soul (pretty hardcore, huh?) fighting back against that final judgment from above. You hop into these intense 33-player battles, which is like mayhem but in a fun way. They’ve got this quick matchmaking thing, so you’re not just sitting there awkwardly. You and your crew gotta fend off monstrous creatures and some bosses that are, unsurprisingly, huge and nasty. Collect stuff, like relics, to beef up your soul. Not literally, though. You’re aiming to dodge the big guy’s wrath while battling for your immortal existence.
Curious folks can find out more by signing up on the 33 Immortals site, if that’s your jam.
Now, as for what’s new or fixed: you can rebind controls — big win for those who hate default settings. A bunch of weapons got balanced, too. The Sword of Justice, the Staff of Sloth (weird name, right?), Bow of Hope, and Daggers of Greed, yeah, all tweaked based on player feedback, so go gamers! Plus, some troublesome feats got sorted out. I’ll say it: balanced weapons make for happy players.
Oh yeah, the detailed patch notes are somewhere — but who really reads those things line by line? Just saying.
Anyway, back to the playtest timing. I may have mentioned this but just in case I didn’t — starts on May 20th at 8 AM PT and wraps up six days later, same morning scene.
Want to be part of this? Here’s the skinny: on May 20th, sign in to your Xbox or Windows PC. Fire up the Xbox Insider Hub app. Don’t have it? Better install it from the Store, pronto. Find the Previews, look for 33 Immortals, hit Join. Wait for that magic ‘install’ button to appear, and then bingo! You’re in.
A couple of asides here: Spaces are limited, so it’s a first-come, first-served kinda deal. Bonus for Xbox One players: this is your time. Go get ’em.
Feedback’s a big deal for them — don’t hold back if something’s off during play. You can report issues by holding down the home button on the Xbox controller, navigating to Report a problem, picking Games, and then going for the 33 Immortals Beta section. Spill all the deets.
For more updates or if you’re just social-media curious, follow them on X (Twitter for old-school folks) at @XboxInsider. More details floating around in the blog and the Xbox Insider SubReddit chat — if you’re into community vibes.
And there you have it. Dive in, and if you do, hope it’s a blast. Or, at least a chaotic good time.
