Man, finally some news on Borderlands 4 that folks have been buzzing about! Gearbox Software just dropped the bombshell that, yeah, they’re bringing in a super-requested thingamajig — the Photo Mode! But, plot twist: it won’t be there when the game hits the shelves on September 12. You’ll have to hang tight for a bit. Bummer, right?
So, here’s the scoop. Photo Mode is, like, this cool feature where you can snap epic in-game shots with fancy filters and stuff. It’s the kind of thing that’s become pretty much standard in games these days. Everybody’s all about the graphics, so duh, it’s a bit of a letdown not to have it right out of the gate in Borderlands 4.
Creator-in-chief, Graeme Timmins, spilled the beans on Tuesday morning, blurting out that it’s coming but, uh, not right away. He was like, “Hey peeps, yeah, Photo Mode’s gonna be a thing in Borderlands 4! But, um, gotta wait till after launch.” Saw it on social media while sipping my morning coffee. Didn’t even spill any, which is rare!
There’s a reason behind the hold-up, though. Timmins explained that the team needed to iron out other bits of the game first. He said something like, “We had to polish other core parts first. Planned it all along, but some things needed the TLC more urgently.” Makes sense, kinda.
Looking back, Borderlands 3 only had Photo Mode on PC at first. Xbox and PlayStation users had to wait a month. But then Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands just went for it — boom, available everywhere. So, naturally, I hoped Borderlands 4 would follow. I mean, it’s using Unreal Engine 5, looking more stunning than ever. It also kinda needs a beast of a PC to run.
Gearbox’s logic is sound, I guess. The game’s gotta work smoothly before the frills, right? Cross your fingers it gets added pretty swiftly after launch. Fingers crossed!
Borderlands 4? It’s shaping up to be a whopper for Xbox and PC gamers this year. Four fresh Vault Hunters, a continuation from Borderlands 3, all set on that war-torn place, Kairos. It drops on September 12, 2025. Save the date! Price tags? $69.99 for the standard, $99.99 for Deluxe, and a whopping $129.99 for the Super Deluxe. Worth it? Probably.
