“My user calls. May I pass?”
So, Flynn Lives! Or maybe he doesn’t. Something’s gonna get clearer in October, I guess. Until then, let’s chat about that game thing — you know, TRON: Catalyst. Came out on Nintendo Switch, thanks to Big Fan and those folks at Bithell Games.
Picture this: the TRON universe from 2010’s TRON: Legacy but… with a twist. There’s this crazy mix of time loops and fighting. It’s all happening in this digital world that’s all decayed and apparently ditched by its creator. The launch trailer’s out there, painting the picture for you.
Here’s what’s happening in the game. Or at least, something like this:
You’re playing as Exo. Yeah, Exo. She’s a courier — just running around doing her thing. But then, out of nowhere, BOOM! A package blows up. She gets these wild powers, nothing a regular program would have. Next thing you know, Exo’s racing against these hardcore ‘peacekeepers’ on the Arq Grid. She’s gotta unravel all these secrets. Or something.
Here’s what you get up to:
**Time-looping Action:** So, this Glitch happens. Exo can rewind time, learning from all those inevitable screw-ups. She’s dodging factions, uncovering paths, sneaking around the Arq Grid’s glitchy mess.
**Classic TRON Combat:** You’re on foot fighting like a wild thing. There’s Light Cycle stuff, missions, crazy Disc Kicks flying around. Data Shards are a thing — upgrade your code, do cool stuff. Chaotic but kinda awesome.
**Fresh TRON Story:** It’s all mysterious. Exo’s figuring out this “Glitch” shaking up the Grid. Conn’s stalking her — he’s a bad dude from Core. Exo can’t just run forever; she’s gotta break the loop.
**A World of Discovery:** Digital rain, neon glows, slick streets — inside a computer. Imagine that. The Arq Grid’s got major programs lurking. And the soundtrack? Total electronic vibe. Synths for days.
Rain-slicked streets in a computer? Yeah, sure. Let’s see how that’s gonna pan out.
Anyway, TRON: Catalyst’s lounging in the Nintendo eShop now — $29.99 if you’re curious. More deets at bigfangames.com.
