Well, okay, so let me tell you this strange yet thrilling tale. I mean, a while back, some gaming folks at FromSoftware were all cheerful and whatnot ’cause Elden Ring Nightreign was like, a hit. People loved it — go figure. They said they’d toss in this cool duos mode and something about beefed-up Nightlords—I didn’t really get it at first. But here we are.
Now, Duo Expeditions? Yeah, nowhere in sight. But guess what just popped up? Boom! Enhanced Nightlord fights. Sneaky, huh? So, like, I was logging off after covering some routine updates (seriously, it was like watching grass grow) and then BAM! Real news dropped. No heads-up or fancy announcement either. Just… there.
Late yesterday — which seems like last century when you’re hyped on enthusiasm zero sleep gives you — players stumbled upon the first one of these intensified bosses. FromSoft called them Everdark Sovereigns. Sounds grand, right? Basically, souped-up Nightlords on steroids. Each week, one of these mighty beasts descends upon us, and you gotta beat the OG version first to even think about battling the Sovereign. This week, it’s the Sovereign of Gaping Jaws (you know, Adel?). Next week, it’s Sentient Pest, and then Darkdrift Knight. Can’t keep up? Yeah, me neither.
They’re cranking out Sovereign versions for other Nightlords too—names like Tricephalos and, uh, Fissure in the Fog (the imagery there!). Adel? Available until Thursday, June 25. Mark those calendars if you live for the thrill or something.
Oh, and there’s this new NPC. Sort of like a… collector? You defeat the Sovereign Nightlords, pocket these Sovereign Sigils, and boom, go shopping for Relics or other cool gear. First boss down, and you even score bonus sigils. Sweet deal, right? But wait, there’s more! This NPC can, get this, change Nightreign’s Shifting Earth / Map Events whenever you feel like it. More freedom, fewer boss fights—if you’re into that sort of thing.
There’s definitely more to it, I bet. As players dig in, their discoveries might surprise us all. Haven’t beaten the Nightlords yet? No sweat. We threw together a weaknesses guide, which might save your bacon.
Questions? Total confusion? Hey, our Elden Ring Nightreign guide is your best buddy. It’s all out there, waiting.
