Destiny 2 Embraces Star Wars Vibes with New Renegades DLC

So, you know how Destiny games have that whole mix of Jedi vibes with their laser swords and stuff, right? Kinda always felt a bit like Star Wars. But get this, Destiny 2 is about to go completely over the edge nerd-style! By the end of the year, there’s gonna be an expansion straight-up called Renegades—you won’t believe it—it’s got the actual stamp from Lucasfilm. Like, lightsabers and a Darth Vader cameo. Wild.

Bungie, the brains behind Destiny, decided to blow everyone’s minds with this Renegades expansion announcement on Tuesday. They threw a livestream party to chat about this Year of Prophecy thing. And boom, they drop this teaser that’s practically screaming Star Wars. I mean, you can swing around Han Solo’s blaster. No kidding. And there’s this green lightsaber too. Guess what? They’ve cooked up these cool Dark Side getups for Hunters, Titans, and Warlocks, inspired by none other than General Grievous, Darth Vader, and Kylo Ren. Fancy suit, right? They’ll be part of some Destiny 2: Year of Prophecy Ultimate Edition. Oh, and there’s this other expansion coming called The Edge of Fate, hitting sometime in July.

Not spilling all the beans on Renegades yet, but there’s a sneak peek of Guardians zooming around a sandy scene. Tatooine, anyone? The devs casually confirmed during that stream that yep, it’s set in the Star Wars playground.

But hey, skins aren’t all that’s coming. Think about sparrows and all that flashy gear. And if there’s no Marksman-H combat remote thing for your Ghost by the end of the year, someone somewhere definitely screwed up.

Destiny 2 has been giving a nod to Star Wars before. Remember February? Those Guardian outfits channeling Stormtroopers, Death Troopers, and Imperial Guards popped up when the Heresy expansion dropped.
