It’s been, like, forever since Activision mentioned Black Ops 7, ya know, the new Call of Duty. Ages. They first showed off a teaser back in June—just shut the Xbox Showcase with it. And that’s all, folks.
They did say more info was coming this summer. Did they actually book a date? Nope.
So here we are, middle of July, and that teaser feels like a century ago. But hey, surprise! They just spilled the beans—August is the month we’ll see it again.
The big reveal’s at gamescom Opening Night Live on Tuesday, August 19. Black Ops 7’s gonna be just another act there. The event’s streaming at 11am PT, 2pm ET, 7pm UK. Set your clocks or, you know, just forget and catch the highlights later.
It’s kinda odd, right? These Call of Duty games usually get big solo reveal blowouts from Activision—not shared stage vibes. Made me think… maybe they’re testing waters or something?
Not totally sure what we’re even gonna see on August 19. Could be just a teaser, or maybe they’ll drop a bigger bomb later in August or early September. Just before the inevitable beta—because those are like, a tradition now.
There’s lots for the devs to talk about with Black Ops 7. It’s going back to near-future vibes and—get this—co-op’s back in the campaign. Fans are squinting hard for links between this one and Black Ops 6. Could be they’re saving the big talk for some last-minute hype?
No official release date yet, but November’s a good guess. Expect it on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Not that anyone’s shocked by that lineup.
